Bowling Shirts

Bowling ShirtsBowling Shirts

Bowling Shirts are cool! I've started this blog in hopes of opening a dialogue and discussion area for those people interested in discussing one of the coolest clothing comebacks of the 21st century ... Bowling Shirts! Whether you like Retro Bowling Shirts or Vintage Bowling Shirts, they're the latest hip and trendy fashion. There are even Kid's Bowling Shirts now! Most of us are happy with off-the-rack shirts, but there are those few who like to be original, so if you think you've heard it all, there are now Custom Bowling Shirts available! Charlie Sheen made these shirts famous in the T.V. series Two And A Half Men, now they're all the rage. Ladies Bowling Shirts are becoming popular too. Not only are the guys getting into retro fashion, the girls are following close behind. If you're on the lookout for bowling team shirts, what better way to show your team spirit then to dress the entire team in matching uniforms circa styles from the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s and even into the 1970s.

If you open up my closet right now, you'll find that I've collected tons of retro style shirts. I have striped ones, plain ones, shirts with cool retro graphics, plaid shirts, shirts with bright colors, some with pastel colors and even one with a sexy vintage pinup girl! Finding actual vintage bowling shirts is a challenge. In the 1970s and 1980s you could walk into any vintage clothing store and find literally hundreds of shirts hanging on the racks. Now you're lucky to find one, and if you do, it's usually in the "specialty" or collectible section and you pay a hefty price. Of course there's always ebay. My suggestion if you're really into collecting these vintage treasures is to join an online club. You'll get the best prices when you buy bowling shirts from those more interested in sharing their love of the hobby rather than making a buck. Plus, if you're a big guy like me, you'll have a better chance of finding a shirt in a larger size.

On a side note, it is worth mentioning that there are many reproduction clothing companies out there now that offer bowling shirts and similar retro fashions. It pays to look on the web if you prefer buying a brand new shirt as opposed to a vintage garment. But, as you'll see, the prices for new shirts are comparable to those prices you'll find on authentic vintage forties, fifties and sixties style shirts. I offer bowling shirts from my website and you can see them here http://www.andynortnik.com/bowling-shirts.htm. Doing price comparisons for bowling shirts online is a must. The costs are all over the board and the same shirt might be offered by several different companies. Also, watch out! Some companies who offer cheap bowling shirts will get you in the end on the shipping costs! Be sure to double check the shipping and handling charges before you enter that credit card number! Again, there are hundreds of vintage style clothing companies out there, but hands down my favorite web-based bowling shirt company is BowlingShirt.com.

It's a fun hobby and it's cheap for the most part. Hold out as much as you can for the best bargain deals and save your money for that one "special" eye-catcher that you'll only wear when you hit the club, visit your favorite drive-in or when checking out your favorite rockabilly band!

So I'm asking you, the reader, if you have any cool bowling shirt stories for instance how you came across a sweet deal or perhaps you have some interesting stories about your father or grandfather wearing bowling shirts, please share those stories here so that the rest of us can enjoy! By the way, check out what Wikipedia.org has to say about Bowling Shirts.
